Fedor Konyukhov sailed to Albany, Western Australia on 12th of January 2008

Fedor Konyukhov will set out on his solo record attempt around Antarctica on January 26 – Australia Day. He sailed his 85ft monohull ‘Trading Network Alye Parusa’ into Albany, Western Australia, the starting point for the Antarctica Cup Race Track, on 12th of January 2008 after a shake-down  voyage half way round the world from Falmouth UK. Fedor and his team will prepare the yacht for the 14,500 mile record attempt.

1 week at sea.

Sailed 1250 miles. Today we will round first group of Islands: Prince Edward. Next Islands are: Crozet.

Trading Network «Alye Parusa» entered "Roaring Forties"

According to GPS we sailed 700 miles from the start, 4000 miles to go to Albany. 600 miles ahead Prince Edward Islands.

Trading Network «Alye Parusa » left Cape Town

Left CT 16 December at 14-00. Sailed 180 miles fighting two currents: Benguela Current (cold), Agulhas Current (warm). The flow against us at 4 knots. Same day rounded Cape of Good Hope and this morning crossed 20E and entered Indian Ocean. The wind is from S-S-E at 25+ knots.

Stop-over in Cape Town

Open 85 Trading Network Alye Parusa will make a stop-over in Cape Town to repair damaged chain-plate for staysail and for overall service before she heads to the Southern Ocean. ETA to Cape Town 09-10 December 2007.
